Deep South Texas Roots
As a fifth-generation South Texan, Aaron has longstanding ties to the region and its residents. His family history includes Brownsville pioneer Atenogenes Orive. His maternal grandfather, Antonio A. Benavides, was among Brownsville’s first Hispanic public-school principals.
Family Background
His parents, Arthur and Nora Benavides Rendon, both retired from the Brownsville Independent School District. His father served as a longtime school administrator, and his mother worked as a teacher and librarian.
Education and Legal Career
Aaron’s interest in law and ambition to pursue higher education guided his academic journey. He attended elementary and junior high schools in the Brownsville Independent School District before graduating from Saint Joseph Academy in 2006.
Legal Education & Licensure
He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas, in 2010. He later attended Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, Texas, graduating in 2016. That same year, he received his license to practice law.
